A look back at last weeks NAMM Show. We toured around the event looking for interesting subject matter and it wasn’t hard to find!

Oscar Jordan sat down with guitarist/instructor Mark Wein at this years Winter NAMM Show 2012 about targeting notes rather than playing scales. The 2012 NAMM Show was in full force this past weekend in Anaheim, California and SMG hooked up with a Southern California icon in the guitar world, Taylor Guitars. Each year Taylor puts on an amazing show of gear, live performances and tons of great information on their lineup to NAMM visitors.

The NS34ce retains the superior tuning of the nickel and bronze stringed models which is a highlight of this guitar. As many classical players know, classical guitars are notorious for losing its tuning quite fast depending on weather and humidity.

As an 18 year old, Bob Taylor began working at American Dream building guitars for owner Sam Radding, where Kurt Listug was already an employee. When Radding decided to sell the business in 1974, Taylor, Listug, and Schemmer bought American Dream.

The latest edition of Wood & Steel is now out (Volume 63 Spring 2010) and we were very pleased to see that Taylor published an excerpt from our review of the Taylor 414ce….
