The People Behind Share My Guitar
* Mickey Richardson is the founder of SMG, moderator, blog editor, podcast engineer, etc. A true music fanatic. Mick started out with piano as a young child but merged to drums and then to bass guitar as a teenager. Although he still enjoys playing other musical instruments, guitar has become his primary musical outlet. Email: mickey@sharemyguitar.com
* Dan Coplan is senior staff writer at SMG. Dan is a Los Angeles based cinematographer and self-admitting guitar junkie. In his ongoing quest to learn songs, experiment with gear, draw inspiration from axe slingers old and new, and land a spot with a band he can call home, he doesn’t get much sleep and hs speling sufers as a reesult. Email: dancoplan@sharemyguitar.com
* Oscar Jordan is a staff writer at SMG. Oscar is a Los Angeles based actor, martial artist, songwriter, guitar teacher, music journalist and shootist. He’s a frustrated funk-shredder-jazzbo who played blues in his hometown of Chicago and has two critically acclaimed albums. He’s appeared in a bunch of films, TV shows and commercials and gets the honor of asking guitar virtuosos smart aleck questions. It has been said that Oscar plays guitar like he’s bringing a gun to a knife fight. Email: oscarjordan@sharemyguitar.com
* Nick Arrietta is a staff writer at SMG. Nick is a professional Music teacher from California and has been playing the Guitar for 24 years. Along with teaching music he is a touring guitarist, studio musician and songwriter. Most notable for his mind-blowing solos, Vintage Les Paul and Amp’s that go to “Eleven” he also has a spandex collection that is on loan to the Smithsonian, well maybe not on that last bit. Email: nick@sharemyguitar.com
* Brian Marshak is a staff writer at SMG. Brian is also a guitar player and composer in Hollywood, CA. He began playing guitar at the age of six and is mainly self taught from guitar magazines, jamming with other players and learning songs from tapes and cd’s. Brian studied at the Berklee School of Music for awhile on scholarship but left school early to move to Hollywood to work as a professional musician. Since 2006 he has done session work, live showcases, and touring for various bands. Email: BrianMarshak@sharemyguitar.com
* Scott “SVH” Von Heldt is a staff writer for SMG. Scott is currently the lead guitarist for Brian “Head” Welch (ex-Korn) and has worked with members of White Zombie, Cirque Du Soliel and many others.
